what is Irdeto FatCam

Could anyone please tell me what an Irdeto FatCam is?
I know quite a bit about cams but I've never come accross a fatcam.
I've seen one going on ebay,described as an 'untested FatCam'. Im on the lookout for a betacam, if this decodes beta, should I bid for it?

Forget it, it is not for a standard PCMCIA slot, as found in most modern digital receivers, it is specifically for receivers like the D Box it is designated as CA, not CI.
