What is the genral procedure to upload Fortecstar Lifetime ?

Hello,
which are the stages which should be followed (whatever the version of firmware and the boot which are inside) to upload new patch (boot 6 & Al7bar firmware 249) for my FORTECSTAR LIFETIME without having the nasty surprise : "moving light on the front panel and nothing else" and the receiver doesn't boot.
