Well my old one didn't.

Av amps have a setup setting. The idea is to balance all speakers to the same db.

I used an app on my phone to setup my pioneer.

The shining virtue of this gimmick-free music show – which began 40 years ago this week – was always the performances. Among the highlights: an earnest but passionate Curtis Mayfield; Tina Weymouth pumping out pop’s scariest bass line for Talking Heads’ Psycho Killer; and a hilariously surly Terry Hall leading his pogo-ing Specials through Too Much Too Young.

It’s an education, too, seeing artists’ origins: Robert Palmer backing a punkish Elkie Brooks in R&B combo Vinegar Joe, and a pre-Jesus of Cool Nick Lowe – probably our greatest under-appreciated songwriter – fronting pub rockers Brinsley Schwartz. Deep joy.

Nice to see Brinsley Schwartz last time I saw them was a pub somewhere in London back in the 70's
