What Satellite?

On Friday I get my new house in Portugal. I am buying from a German. He has sat tv but he does not know what satellite it is pointed at. As my German is limited to "danke" I would like to know what sat I am looking at so that I might get some English language channels. Does anybody know how I can tell. Thanks

If he has left the other kit try switching it on and seeing what is there and compare to lyngsat or flysat.

If not set your own stuff up first then try, I am afraid crystal balls do not work with such equipment

Just note few channel names and then check the Lyngsat website to find out which satellites transmit these channels.

I am willing to bet that he has Premiere package, making it Astra 19.2E.

Open up the Astra page http://www.lyngsat.com/astra19.html and the
Premiere package http://www.lyngsat.com/packages/premiere.html

If I am wrong, then the next bet is Hotbird.
