What tuner inside DRX890?

I don't really want to open the box up if anyone knows what tuner it's inside the DRX890? is it Availink or some other manufacturer as the tuner seems to be very good compared to other boxes i had.

For a quick difference it is slightly better than the old famous Pace 2600C1 and the Pace i know has a Sharp tuner inside.
 
I will opening one up in two weeks time to change the hard driver. If I remember I will let you know then if the information hasn't been posted in the meantime.
 
Not all DRX890´s are created equal. I have had a few very good ones (the best Sky boxes I have tried) and one bad one! I will open up the bad one and let you know the make, we can then see if there are different tuner suppliers for this box.
 
Note that the DRX890 is made in three different factories - signified by a letter at the end - so DRX890C = China, DRX890R = Roumania and DRX890Z = ??. The 3 factories may well use different component suppliers (inc tuners) and note also that the version number in system details (4F31XX) changes every time there is a hardware modification to the box - be that change of chip spec, component supplier, pcb design etc. So to be conclusive any info posted would need full model number and version number of box referred to.

Yes, i have the Romania model which got R in the end.
 
I opened my box up yesterday night but i could not find any information about tuner manufacturer, couldn't find any reference to Sharp, Avialink or any other, if someone finds anymore info it would be apprectiated as i didn't look under the systemboard.

By the way, i mine is China made 890-C and not 890-R as i thought earlier.

Is tuner of DRX890 better than Azbox Me In whole Ku band not just lower Ku band
have you compared tuner of DRX890 to other boxes than Pace2600 and Azbox Me
are DRX595 and DRX890 same but DRX890 being with additional HDD

Is there a general consensus that the "C" model is the best one to get, or does it make absolutely no difference?
