It is good to have the F/D of the LNB matched to the dish in order to be illuminated properly. That is the reason why an LNBF for an offset LNB isn't much good for you, as they are designed for dishes around the 0.6 to 0.7 mark. Prime focus dishes are usually less than that (but don't have to be!)
