My Satellite Setup
Computer is broke at the moment due to fried mobo or cpu. Will hopefully be doing a new i5 system build in the coming weeks as a priority. Last system was several years old a Barton 2500 XP system.

I have Standard Sky but unfortunately my Sony Sky
My Location
Yorkshire
I am going to be fixing my Satellite dish to the outside wall but the wall bracket/mount I have for it I don't think is the right kind. The wall is east facing and I am going to be putting the triax 78cm dish up for 28 19 and 13 East.

The bracket I have at the moment the arm comes out a small amount and then the length of it runs parallel to the wall. The only way I can alter it is to turn it around like the hand of a clock face which is no use. I need the length of it to go outwards towards east so it can then swing slightly to the left as I face east. The dish will then go into the arm and I can point the centre lnb to 19 East.

Do you know where I can get this type of bracket and what its called? The one I've got at the moment I call the "clockface bracket" I can't think of what use it could be and what type of dish you'd mount on it?

Sounds like an L type bracket. I would be more inclined to install a TK arrangement for dish mounting between the two. They come in 12, 18 and 24 inches. Check out the site sponsors for mounting brackets.

Yes, that's the old style bracket, for dishes with a horizontal mast clamp, you can buy a "U" mast to fit in that bracket, but if it isn't motorised, then a simplt elbow bracket will do.

I would say use a set of t&k brackets in case you want to motorise the dish later on.

Yes, it goes in horizontally to my dish.

Do you have any links for places selling the T&K or U and elbow brackets?

I don't think I am going to motorise this particular dish but I guess having that as possible option in future would be good.

The bracket it has at the moment just goes around like a clockface it wont allow me to swing/twist the dish from left to right to find right satellite. It just will always be fixed facing straight out so I'm not sure the purpose of the bracket I have, it definitely can't be for East facing wall.

Cheers,

John

I can't see how a T&K or U bracket will work for my dish? I believe these types of brackets are for dishes that have a vertical mast clamp, but mine is horizontal?

Right, we need photos, thought you were purely speaking if the bracket which is on the wall and using it with a standard dish, what do you actually have?

If it's the complete dish, right angled pole and wall bracket, then you have 90 degrees of movement in one direction away from the wall. If you need to move the dish in the other direction, then you need to take the dish off the pole and move it 180 degrees, then remount the dish.
