To the non mountain residents friends of our nice rural mountainous County...
We're doing "okay" here in the mountains right now, with COVID cases. We watch in horror as the rest of the country spikes, and wonder how long before it blows up in our small communities. So if you plan on vacationing at our lakes, rivers, and forests this summer, know that red ants and bedbugs have infested hotels and motels across the area due to a wetter than usual spring. We have man-eating trout and bass in our lakes and rivers. Mountain lions roam free. Skunks have multiplied at unprecedented rates and wander the local campgrounds in packs. There are 8,000 times more bears this year, I saw 4 bears in just 1 night!
Leaches are in our lakes!
The killer rattlesnakes are out of control. We’ve got SHITLOADS of murder hornets. Ticks! SO many ticks!!
Bigfoot has been spotted, and it’s breeding season.
It’s been reported a large mosquito carried off a Prius! Be sure to bring bug spray or a tennis racket for your personal safety.
So stay where you are, in your own state or county, where it's safe!
And if you dare to come up to enjoy these wonders of nature, bring your toilet paper as it’s a rare commodity or we have plenty of shiny 3 leafed plants available at no charge.
Know that gas prices are rising for summer/tourism but it’s all down hill until you hit the miles of backed up traffic at the stop light in Jamestown.
Be sure to wear your mask, as we also have airborne rabies!
And PLEASE, take your trash home with you!
