im looking for a sat box that has a sensitive tuner in it i have a technomate 6900 super plus at the moment and im wondering if there is a better one out there !!

if it helps ive got a gibertini 1.25m dish motorised from 45e to 37w running the technomate at the moment !

any ideas ???

Dr HD F15, Blade 7000 or Technomate 5402HD Mark 1 (not 2 or 3) have very sensitive tuners...

thanks for the reply captain jack

ive tried a technomate 5402hd mk1 and its on par with the tm6900 super plus i have !!

Dr hd d15 , tm800 & tm5302 all have the same sensitivity. My vu duo is very deaf.

How much of that do you think is down to individual tuners? My VU+ Solo is not that far behind the Dr HD in terms of sensitivity. Certainly, on my 1M dish it will lock a horizontal TP on the older Nilesats at 7W for most of the day.

I would say technomate 5302, x2 premium II and dr hd f15.

The vu duo works quite well on most things. But it's not the same as the dr hd or tm5302. It can be upto 1.5db differance.

In c-band I can watch a lot more channels with the tm5302, but the vu just blocks, pops and squeaks.

TM6900HD Combo Super+,TM5302HD, have the most sensitive tuners with the TM5402HD M1 & DrHD D15 a close 2nd.

ive heard about the azbox premium does anyone have one of those and does that have a good tuner in it ??

What are you hoping to watch? A sensitive tuner is no substitute for a bigger dish if its out of area fringe reception.

The azbox premium has a sensitive tuner but no comparison to the receivers I listed above and it does miss tp quite often and its blind scan is like watching grass grow.

It's. It always the "best"tuner it's also the symbol rate it covers. That is what is really annoying about my vu duo.

Do they still make them?

Only clones in China but there are still quite a few new ones for sale here in Canada. I sold my premium+ a couple of months ago and kept my azbox ultra for those 4:2:2 feeds.

I will leave the clones alone.

I will stick with the tbs6925 card for the 4:2:2.

Best Sensitive tuner + widest range Blind Scan my top 5:-

1/TM5302HD 800 to 45,000 symbol rate
2/AZBox HD Premium+ 800 to 45,000
3/TM6900HD Combo Super+ 850 to 45,000
4/SpiderboxHD9000 850 to 45,000
5/TM5402HD M1 850 to 45,000

thanks for the replies everyone you know what its like im trying to get as much signal as i can as i cant go any bigger on the satellite dish !!

thanks again !!

Best Lnb's I have tested recently with the 100cm Gibertini are these 2:-

MTi AP8-T2NRC single Lnb 0.2
Inverto Black Ultra HGLN Lnb 0.2

Both worked very well on the TM6900HD Combo Super+

I've tuned SR's down to 1000 on my Duo. Only problem is it is a bit slow to get lock at these SR's. Apart from the that the tuner is pretty sensitive.
