Hi............i been using a technomate for a year but was
wondering what the advantages with a dreambox are
apart from HD do they use a Linux based system are
the the same as an eagle receiver.
Is it all to do with picture quality and sound ect.

Whats the big difference in these boxes, are Linux based
systems better.

Well let's get the history correct, the Eagle is a clone of the DB not the other way round. The advantage of a Linux based stb is that it can run EMU's however the number of packages that can be opened using EMUs had decreased significantly recently. Now it mainly gives you the flexibility to use various subscription cards or to card share
 
I ve got tm and eagle mate, eagle took a lot of setting up and faffing about and to be honest for me it aint really been worth the hassle at the mo with not enough time to play around i'm sure in time though ill get the chance and really start to appreciate it:):):):):)
