No satellite stuff for the moment (aside from a 43cm minidish that was on the house already), Samsung SyncMaster T27B550 Smart TV & Monitor, and a few computers...
My Location
Near Pontop Pike, Co. Durham
I'm getting the 4 boxes in the photo (bought outside of eBay as I missed the end of the auction) and I'm curious to know what the Philips box is (bottom box) as I've not seen any Philips satelite boxes before, so, what do you think it is? :D

Auction is here

Could possibly be a Canal Digital box though going by how the attatched pic is named...

"philips_canaldigitalsv.gif"

3 out the 4 are def analogue boxes, although the philips does seem to say "dvb" on it.

Even google isnt really much help on this one

I knew about the other 3, I mainly just want the MSS300 to replace my current one, but it's just the Philips one that's the mystery, but I have found a page on google with some info on it, but it's a translated page (from Spanish) so it's pretty much gobbldeegook...

Have a look for yourself:

Having done a bit more googling, I think its a german cable box.

Here's the original page then...

As for a cable box, you sure that's not a D-Box? Doesn't look like any usual D-Box I've seen...

Dunno - my german is rather rusty

"zwei bier bitte" und "ist deine tochter achtzein?" is about my limit...

I did french at school myself... O-Ha

I think it is a satellite box, and very likely to be a Canal Digital box too... :D

Bet its not still authorised if it is.:D

Well it doesn't have a card, so it'll probably be just good for an FTA box...

Assuming I can get a remote for it of course... :D

They should be here soon according to the seller....

The suspense is killing me, i wanna find out if i'm right or wrong.

Hopefully i'm right:D

Weeeeeell, the boxes arrived today.......

But I was at work.... :-rofl2

Well, I have 'em and I'm still clueless as to what that philips box is for, or even the model number!!! But I'll have an investigation tonight and have a play about with it without a remote control... :D

Having read the whole thread - I too am as excited as ShaunSat, hehe.

I reckon Shaun is right - but have you had a chance to test/work out what the Phirips box actually is yet?

.

lol, i bet the previous owner removed the lable with the model number on it so we couldnt find out what the model is as easily :D .

Unless of course 2cvbloke forgot to look on the bottom, or maybe he is making us wait and has allready found out what it is :D .

If there is no lable then it might be the old "look under the hood" to see if there is any information printed inside somewhere.

Strange thing curiosity :)

Any closer to finding out what it is for sure 2cvbloke?

Does it at least have 'F' connectors for goodness sake  ???

L.:D
