Sorry this is in the wrong section but I don't know what is the right section...

I'm after some computer software that can alter avi video files. For example, repeat sections of a vid; overlay video on top of video, add music, etc.

Just basically mess it about until it becomes incoherent but relevant. If you know what I mean.

Windows Movie Player has all the basics you need (bundled in with XP)

Windows Movie Maker actually CH....it will do some of those things yes not sure about any video overlays though audio yes no problem
 
I've tried WMM but I can't get it to do some of the things I want.

Still looking for another program. Thanks anyway! :)
