Having taken a break as my hands are killing from scraping of layers of wallpaper from working on the house i just moved in to a few weeks i had a play with the 1.2m i got free the other week now i have got the satellite bug back after living in a flat with a north and east view i only has a dual feed 19/13 east set up i could not use a motor dish. So today and yesterday i had fun with the dish i could get badr 26 east and nilesat and a few others. So now i plan on buying a brand new 1.2m asc dish any one know where i can get one cheap the best price i have had so far is £75 for the dish and might get a 1224 to move it And what about receiver i was thinking about a technomate or clarke-tech which is best and what other receivers are good mine is a few year old and needs updating, Any comments are welcome:)

P.S where is the best shop to buy a receiver.

Have you heard they have JD.. ?

I heard from Allsat dot Com they don't produce them. What have you heard Pedro?

is that the whole valustar range ?... wouldn't surprise me, it‘s a tough market.. that‘s why Andrews & Channel Master are effectively no more ... I'll find out on Monday..

i think they still make them for the vsat market

i hope they still make dishes otherwise i'm going to have to buy one and store it

Wod BTW thanks for the screen shots. Are you talking about the Valustar series?

I spoke to ASC in the usa to see if i can buy direct from them but shipping would be to much what they told me is that they make the smc dishes for vsat and commercial use such as in store music services and so on and for use in hard enviroments such as oil rigs and the smc dishes have a long life span and also satellite enthusiast buy them and they have no plans to stop making them, The also told me about the valu star range they said they are just as good as the smc dishes but they will not last as long as a smc dish. Then they give me the details where to but the dishes in the uk.

I then called the number in the uk and they gave me a price of £75 for the 1.2m smc dish and 1.2m Solid Gal Steel dish pole mount valustar £39.95

Thanks Satpro... have said size v size they are the same but the plastic/ fibreglass faces are far more robust.. they can survive 125 mph but they 'do flex'... their strong wind 'use' is about the same as the Valustar.

For this use though ..the Valustar range has a lot going for it as a choice.

Yes the valustar range do seem a good option for the price the also sell a 1.5m valustar. The 1.2m i was given free works fine i just might buy a nice new white one
