where to start to receive belgium channels

Hi,
I live in Ovingdean (Brighton) and would like to install a satellite + receiver to enable me to receive belgium and french channels. We currently have sky+ installed but as far as I understand the sky satellite dish is fixed. Any help, suggestion on how to achieve my goal would be great.

Not sure what satellite provider covers Belgium but would guess you need a dish 60cm fixed to 19east Astra.

Then the relevant receiver+any subscription card needed.
 
Having searched on the 'net I'd agree with Wod, a dish pointed at 19.2°E, a receiver and subscription. This page may give you more info:

If it were mainly French speaking channels you were after (as opposed to Dutch or Flemish) and given your location, I suppose you might have an outside chance of picking up French terrestrial digital TV via a suitably large aerial. (given that you had suitable line of sight to a transmitter on the French coast) It's very marginal though.
 
For the Belgian Francophone channels you'd need a subscription to Télésat, which is carried on Hotbird 13°E and notoriously difficult to obtain as there's no real abroad reseller market. I think _www.tvcorner.com sell it but you have to e-mail them for the price list.

if we are looking at canal digitaal you will need an satellite dish 60 cm and a monoblock lnb.
this lnb will look at 19 east and 23.5 east at the same time
they are a little hard to set up but it works.
i have done several here in naples italy.
you will need their decoder and have a subscription and its best to use a deticated dish for this.

I doubt you would get 23.5 east on a 60cm monoblock ... I usually do the CS Link instalations and i use a 80cm solid with a single lnb . The alignment must be spot on though .
 
Channels on Astra 3b should be fine as that is very strong here and in Europe but would guess 80cm with mono block lnb would work fine for 13/19e and 23.5e
 
For Dutch speaking Belgian channels, there's always TV Vlaanderen _http://www.lyngsat.com/packages/tvvlaanderen.html

Have you ever heard of tv vlaanderen? it is a satellite tv service company in belgium which provide a satellite dish which points at astra 1 (19.2e) astra 3b (23.5e) and astra 2 (28.2.e) although you can only get the freesat channels on astra 2 using a normal tv vlaanderen receiver. hope this helps
