The Faval mate, with all due respect to CDTronix their dish just looks like half a dozen other O.E.M. jobs form China or Turkey.

was going to plump for a 1.1m triax but i think ill play safe with the 1.2m.

Where are you located?


If you need a 1.2m, why not just get one that is known to perform well, like the Gibby, or a 2nd hand Channel master.

Ive never had them side by side to compare, but the channel master does the biz.
 
1.2m size I wouldn't go for any other but gibertini or channel master with the latter being the better in my opinion with owning one.

its not my money or my job tbh, im only giving options based on a limited budget.

if it were me i would probably try and get a 2.4m stuck in the back garden while the missus was at work :)

But I concurr:)

The CM 1.2m certainly pulls it weight, I stuck an Inverto black ultra on one, and was very impressed by what I could receive with it.
 
lol, its a definate no go above £100 and they cant/wont wait for a 2nd hand channel master so its between the 2 above, which one should drag in a better signal and ill be using an inverto black ultra quad :-righton
 
You do have to be beware of some of the 1.2m dishes advertised. On more than one occasion, I have seen 1.2m dishes perform like dishes much smaller.
 
Not sure where you are but I get it fine, even in rain, on an 80cm Technomate with a VU+ Duo
 
i thinl visats a strange one tbh, we have 2 dishes within a 1 mile area that hit the xtra pl channels at mid 50% snr, one on a duo and one on a dm800. both lose signal with rain.
 
Having owned a Gibby - a Gibby for me please!

Please put your location in the profile. Dish size requirements vary dramatically across UK for many satellites.
 
I have a gibby 1.2 iam in south devon i think this is proably as far west you can go and still get reception in the uk for viasat,anyway i get between 70-79% snr on the xtra pl channels. In my opinion gibby is the best 1.2 m dish on the market price wise anyway,and dont forget it will run off a decent diseq moto if its not to exposeded
 
ok , just to reiterate, im not after a gilbertini or a satchaser or anything else on the market, no matter how good it is.the budget is not available unless anyone is happy to send me a 1.2m gilbertini for £100 inclusive? :D

ok, so , back on topic, which would appear to be the better of the 2 dishes in the origianal post :-ohcrap
 
I think a 1m Gibertini will be better than a one of those 1.2m dishes you mention. But if I HAD to chose, then the FaVal one.

Yep our dishes are made in Turkey, same country as where Technomate, Triax & ISS get their dishes made along with many other well known companies across Europe.
The factory that produce these for us also make dishes for the following European TV Comapnies: Boom TV, SAT+, DigiTV, Focussat, Digiturk, D-Smart


I wouldnt buy any dishes from China, thats where the likes of ROSS dishes are made and they are pretty bad.

Just to give you some feedback on our dishes, we are now supplying these to a company in Wales who is using them for Viasat. They are using our 1m dishes for this and they reported back to me to say that our 1m dish out performed the Triax 1.1m they were originally using. (With an Inverto Black Ultra High Gain LNB) Ive personally done a few installs with the 1m dish and got 1w & 4.8e using a multi LNB bracket no problem, the results actually were alot better than i thought i would get, and i was only using basic LNBs, not Invertos.

These are not flimsy cheapo dishes like Fortec Star/Ross etc, we paid extra to have the material thickness as maximum, typically 0.6-0.7mm and the LNB arms were all extra wide for better support. I am not claiming that these are better than the likes of Gibertini & Channel Masters as they are not & they are a different league, but they do certainly offer very good value for money and their performance is very good for the price.

If we were only interested in buying and selling cheap dishes then we wouldnt of bothered with the extras and saved ourselves some money !

The choice is obviously yours though so good luck with it :-)

when we get our new DiSEqC motors in a few weeks time I will offer the board some Freebie dish & motor packs for a competition then the winners can post us a test report & results :-righton
