Which cables do I need for a Sky sat dish?

Silvercrest SL65 receiver

I was given a Silvercrest SL65 sat receiver but a couple month ago I cut the two cables from the Sky dish as we didn't need them and now I have this box I am wishing I didn't cut them! Can anyone tell me if I can install the cables myself, I want to spend as little as possible.

I do not know what type of Sky dish it is though the dish was here when I moved in so it's been up at least 1 year.
 
Hi,

Cable required, 1mm type double screen coaxial (wf100 or equivalent). Screwfix sell a small drum or take a look at the site sponsors on this site.

ooks as though you have sky+ setup from the lnb, any of these feeds will do, make sure you buy good quality digital coax

Yes it's fine. The picture is wrong as it shows an aluminium foil with copper braid but the specification page shows that both foil and braid are copper.

Ok thanks a lot guys. Are these cables easy to replace on a minidish, will I have to take the dish down? It's a bit dark to look outside now and don't want to be taking things apart that I shouldn't be touching!
 
Yes, just unscrew the F-connectors on the LNB, put new ones on your new cable and screw them in.


BTW, no-one in their right mind is going to pay £1.39 per metre for that cable. The per metre price should be about 50p. Click on the link in my sig and get it from CDTronix.
 
Ok I have just looked on the LNB and there is three different cables coming out of it, do I need to replace all three or just the one which would go through to the LNB-IN on the receiver?
 
Just the one. You only need one feed for your silvercrest.
