In between playing with my sat gear I am doing some decorating, the guest bedroom and as it hasn't been done in 15 years it needs it. I have always done the woodwork then the emulsion. An old timer near me who was a professional decorator and said he did work at Buck House told me its emulsion walls first then doors etc. I tried it and he is correct in my view. No splashes on the newly pained woodwork and using some low stick masking tape on the emulsion I am find the finish is very good.

Ceiling first. I'm a brush man, can't get on with rollers. While that's drying, I wash my hair/hat, overalls/jeans

My dad, uncle and I did most of our new house last autumn and we did ceilings first, walls and then finished off with the doors, window sills and skirting. Used a roller on the ceilings and walls otherwise it would have taken even longer than it already did. My roller technique is obviously not quite right as I have damaged the nerves in my index finger and it the feeling is only just starting to come back now, other than that I do like the finish a roller gives.

You haven't got a porch, that's a Farrari.......
