Hello all, I recently installed a 90cm dish and new LNB to receive Intelsat 907 (southern Spain), I found the satellite very quickly and tweaked it with no problems. I then was asked to move my friend's 1.3m Sky dish to Intelsat 907 but after an hour and a half of trying I couldn't find it. They have a very old lnb and it has now occurred to me that perhaps I need a different one for IS 907 is this the case ?

They have a very old lnb

Am a big fan of problem elimination by trial :O)
Maybe bring your own "known good for 907" lnb and test it on the 1.3.
If still no reception it's something with alignment or receiver\system.

There's nothing special about IS 907, it's broadcasting in the standard KU band like Astra. If the dish was picking up channels from Astra before you moved it then it should work, even if it's no longer working as well as it could.

If it is extremely old and only picking up the lower KU band (as used by Sky analogue at 19E) then in theory it should still work as this is the same band where IS 907 is broadcasting from too but it would most certainly be worth changing an LNB that old anyway even if it was still working. The problem in this case would most likely be the LNB LO settings would be wrong in the receiver as it would be expecting a modern universal LNB.

Apart from LNB settings in the tuner.
Remember that all equal LNB polarization does not fit, you have LNB's that for Astra to 19'2º East meets (in an imaginary clock) at 7 antenna facing forward, others at 6 and some old is that 5, for Hispasat which is next, is set at 4.
If the LNB is not properly finished, nothing to do.

Not forgetting a 130cm antenna is much more directional than a 90cm.
That means, without SatFinder, using the antenna tuner to guide 130cm, maybe next satellite passes without sign, in the same position for example, you would sign with 90cm.
------------------

And the LNB like this.?

I remember one day I call me a friend antenista, unable to adjust the antenna, originally aimed at Hispasat and wanted to change the Astra19, he forgot to change the LNB, also with 3.500Euros FTE meter.
Please use a valid tp to measure the signal.
Also worth in SatFinder function.
Locate Hispasat and from the back of the antenna, to the left of Hispasat, the first satellite.
--------

if you found Intelsat 907 on your dish aligned with the Emitor meter then it must be DVB-S2
