I would like to buy a mini receiver that I can use as a satellite radio source for some speakers. Someone has recommended the Octagon Sx8 which looks good - I wonder if there is another option which has Tivusat support.
Many thanks

the octagon sf8008 has smart card support - twice the size of sx88 but still compact

You will need an amplifier for any of the modern receivers, unless you are using active speakers and a cable adapter.

yes, like optical out. some modern speakers have optical in

SF8008 Mini? The SX88+ also has a card reader - I've seen it said that a Tivusat card could work with one but I don't remember seeing anyone say they had a working setup.

ah yes, forgot about the mini - im sure my sx88 didnt have a reader, sold it now tho.

Alternatively some TVs have a second power button that turns off the screen but the audio still comes through the speakers, I use this all the time for radio, seems to work on all inputs.

thats a novel feature, none of my tvs do that

theres sometimes a screen saver either via the STB when on radio mode

My Panasonic plasma has an option to switch off the screen in the picture menu.

The o/p has already confirmed active speakers , so just turn the tv off.
