What motor is recommend for a 85cm dish ,i have seen these for around the same price.

Moteck SG2100
Technomate TM-2200 SUPER
Dark Motor
Strong Dm2100

Most people seem to have the Moteck ,is it the best of the 4 or can i do better for not much more money although i don't want to spend much over £50 ,i have seen the Moteck for £45 delivered.

Thanks.

Personal preference would be either > Moteck SG2100 or TM-2200 SUPER, both perform well on an 85cm dish.

Thanks for the input ,i thought people were going to say the moteck anyway ,is there a guide anywhere on how to set up the motorised dish plus 3 extra lnb's on DiSEqC switch.

Thanks.

Start with the guides in my signature below (detailed motor installation and quick reference guide) :)

Thanks ,i had seen the top one before ,what i want to know though is how i would connect the extra 3lnb's and the switch,i can't get my head round it.

The way I have done it is as follows.

Receiver->>Motor>>Diseqc Switch>>LNBs

It worked very well, not tried it om my current motor though. (TM2200)

Would that move the motor every time?
Anyway i will do that when i get round to it.

Not necessarily. It did on mine due to the way the firmware is setup on the receiver. (Possible to fix using an editor on a PC, but I can't be bothered)

But on others, to stop it moving every time, you disable/turn off, motor control for the satellites that are fixed.

It gives plenty of options with the dreambox so i will have to see.
I have a moteck on order with High Definition so i should be able to have a play next week sometime.
I'll let you know the outcome.

The motor came today from High Definition (great service) ,i haven't had time to sort it out completely or even have much of a play (wet weather).

Its up on the pole and working great (needs a little tweaking),3 lnb's on one dish and 1 on the other with the motor,no switching problems and the motor only moves when selecting sats that arn't on the other dish.

Setup just as Robbo said:-worship ,a lot easier than i thought and worked first time.

Good news,
I thought it might:-rofl2

You are lucky, this was the first question I asked on this forum when I first joined, but didn't receive a solution, so had to experiment myself to get the answer.

Now, a question for you.;)

What settings did you use on your Dreambox?, I had a nightmare once trying to get that setup working on a Linux box I was installing a whle back.

I had to configure each lnb separately.
lnb 1 28e Diseqc mode 1.0 Diseqc command AA
lnb 2 19e Diseqc mode 1.0 Diseqc command AB
lnb 3 13e Diseqc mode 1.0 Diseqc command BA
lnb 4 0.8WDiseqc mode 1.2 Diseqc command BB
I just scroll through the satellites i want to use with the motor select lnb4 and it saves it.
I hope that makes sense ,when i get the chance i'll put some photos up.
