Hi all!

Firstly I cannot see a general discussion forum for recievers, this seems to be the general discussion forum, hopeful I have posted this in an appropriate place!

I pay a Sky multiroom sub to my Dad, who is a full Sky subscriber. I didn't want to pay Sky £150 for their Sky+ a couple of years ago so I went for the standard Sky box.

What I want to do for now is get a reciever that can use the new Sky white card and show my encrypted channels I have paid for. I want a box that can work a motor dish, as in a few years I may get one when I own my own house.

I have been looking at a Dreambox and a TM600 but I am unsure if they have dual tuners, do they have dual tuners?

I could always feed the TM600 into my HTPC and use my HVR-3000 TV card but by the looks of the TV guide in MCE it would be a total mess.

What boxes are there that have 2 DVB-S tuners, maybe HD, and can have a HDD to record.

The reason I am wanting to buy this is to record my TV shows on Sky, copy them to my PC, delete the adverts, convert the file to avi and store it on my debian server.

What do you people recommend?

Moved your post to the relevant section.

ok thankyou! Found it really hard to see this forum :)

Can anyone help me? I am looking at the TM600 but sure it really does what I want, I don't think it has dual tuners and no HD.

TM600 is single tuner and not HD, correct.

One of the HD Linux boxes would probably do what you want at the moment.

The only problem is that in the future it might only be possible to read the white card with an official Sky box.

gah! ok my old man was talking of dropping Sky sports in the summer, I said I would would pay for it. If Sky is going to be dodgy in the future the only channels I basically watch are:

BBC - match of the day,
Sky Sports - PRem games. I would settle for dutch, german russian commentary I don't care :)
Discovery channels ,turbo, real time, basically the whole documentaries section on sky.

What could one buy in euroland to fill my tastes and sack off sky?

Will euroland providers follow suit and block all recievers except there own?
