Sky+ setup, Astra 28.2E fixed dish

Hi

please help me as I am a bt confused!

I have just put up a static Ex-sky digital dish to connect to Hotbird 13E.

I followed the guidance from this site, which is very helpfull and used a sat meter to fine tune the satellite to what I thought to be 13E.

According to dishpointer, from my location, Frome in Somerset, the elevation and azimut fo 13E are: 29.6 and 160.7

The data for 19.2E astra are: 27.9 elevation and 153 azimut.

So as you can see they are a bit close to each other!

When I used the sat meter, I had to slowly move the dish to left or right to get the best signal and then again up and down. The only thing I couldn't do was to turn the lnb as it is fixed! it has a screw at the buttom with 4 or 5 clicky points it can turn to. So I turned it to the best one that gave me the strongest signal/

Then I came in and using my PaCE DS810XE box, used a exshaustive channel scan to find the channels. In the PACE box, I have selected the universal lnb and a single dish pointed to 13E. I then searched the channels, but none of the channels I was expecting to see from 13E are there! mainly french, dutch and austrian!

So I thought maybe I have picked up 19.2E by mistake?

Some of the channels I have picked up are:
1) Bloomberg, BL carrier, Needs mediguard Nagra, 11157Mhz, V, 22000 5/6

2) A LA Carte, CSAT, 12015, ,27500, 3/4
3) Amore TV, Beta Digital, 12265 V 27500 3/4
4) Astra HD+, Beta digital, 11918 H 27500

Any ideas as what satellite I have picked up?

Cheers

it does sounds like 19east that you have aligned the dish to

just move the dish to the right a little bit and you should pickup hotbird now you know where astra 1 19e is

Alright! I though it sounded like 19E. I have cross checked another channel and it seems it IS 19E I am aligned to!

Problem is that they are so close, I don't know how to make sure I get the right satellite!

I am picking up a motorised 80CM dish this week. So hopefully that would maybe make it a bit easier. Only problem PACE doesn't support USAL! only Dseqc 1.2!

PACE is good as it is cheap and HD. Nearest cheap HD with USAL is gonna cost £150!

13e - Try 10.853 Horz, there are a hand full on fta channels on this transponder.

Alignment from behind the dish whilst on 19e, move right a fraction and up a fraction, small movements. Try the Tp above and see. job done

Hi

Thanks for the pointer. Moved the dish to the right from behind, and the sat meter suddenly picked up another sat. Aligned to the strongest signal and tested. I now have 13E! Yeppeee!
