Which Second Receiver ?

Hi All,

I already have an Echostar 3000AD+V+Ird.+Seca. This is mine !!!
I want to utilise the now redundant (old sky + hotbird analogue)80cm fixed dish. Which Digital box do you experts reccommend? 2 LNB inputs? I do not require an inbuilt positioner.

Kind regards to you all,

Goetz.

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

I think the 3000 has the ability to switch between two dishes using the DiSEqC function

Enable it in the software and a ten pound two way box from Global and youre up and running

Why have the second dish if its already motorised. You cannot watch two channels at once with only one receiver. The only advantage would be speed of channel cange if your motor is slow or if its looking at a satellite in another part of the sky

I think s/he was asking about a second digital receiver precisely for that reason...

My recommedantion would be a Humax5400 and get the embedded Irdeto patched to allow use with the various "3-in-1" and "4-in-1" cards doing the rounds. No additional CAM modules are then required. It can all be receivers through the embedded (patched) Irdeto CAM.

See elsewhere on this board for more details on the 5400 & new 5400z.
