Which single output LNB do you recommend me?

- Satellite (not yet bought)
- LNB (not yet bought)
- DVB-S Twinhan 1020a
My Location
Central America
Hi guys I'm located at central america so here we use Universal Linear LNBs but USA use circular so we are out of getting good LNBs there, so my question is which of this LNBs do you recommend me:

- Titanium 0.1dB LNB
- Technomate 0.1dB LNB
- Icecrypt 0.1dB LNB
- Invacom SNH-031


Which one of the above do you recommend me?

If you know about other one to take a look please let me know.
 
It depends what you want it for. For a strong satellite on a standard offset dish, any of them will do. The Invacom is probably the best one, the Icecrypt probaly the worst, but there won't be a significant amount in it.

Considering how relatively inexpensive they are, I suggest you get more than one, of different Brands and make an empirical decision by trying them - and you'll end up with a spare!

Also, don't rely entirely upon the headline Noise Figure: Often that 0.1dB wonder applies only to a small part of Ku Band and may not accord with the optimum Noise Figure vs Frequency characteristic that your viewing habits dictate.

If the signals are strong in your location it doesnt matter in the slightest what lnb you use.

I use any old tatty lnb's that Ive got lying around in my spares box when Im testing dishes / new satellites. Even the 6-8 year old 0.6dB lnbs are fine due to the high signal strengths I have on the main satellites here.

Low noise lnb's are only of any real use for pulling in ultra weak signals - and then you need to try two or three to find what works best as even lnb's from the same batch will have slightly different tolerances.
 
I totally agree with Tivù. If you want to get most of your dish you'll have to try some of them. Your question sounds to me as if you want to receive any US or Canadian satellite that use circular polarisation. First it depends on your location. Northern Mexico or the Northern Caribbean are much more priviledged for those satellite beams than the southernly located areas. Be aware that primarily it's the dish size and its efficiency which rule the game. If besides that you have limited (not zero) signal quality you might be able to improve it using other LNBs, more sensitive receivers and other fine tuning stuff like the ideal feedhorn if it ain't the original one of the dish. So to make it short: First comes a well aligned right sized dish of not too bad quality and then the rest.
 
Normally all reasonably markted LNBs are good especially if the Sats signal is adaquate...but there is nothing that beats a well aligned Dish... it will do wonders....mostly that will be the culprit for poor reception on rather weak signals.
 
The noise figure is a load of old coblers :eek:

I've tested quite a few lnbs on my Penta Dish :D

The best one i found was a 0.6dB Televes Quad lnb :-worship

I've tried Fracarro lnbs, Mti lnbs, Inverto lnbs, Triax lnbs and some other more dodgy brands that i've never heard of.

On that particular dish the 0.6dB Televes quad out performs some of the better well known brands with a 0.1 , 0.2db noise figure :toke:

Thanks guys I think I'm going to get the Invacom since that one is easier to get here in central america.
