Why?? Are ITV mad?

Any idea why ITV are running the same football match on ITV1 and ITV2 at the same time?
They have the other match on ITV4, so three channels tied up on one subject, but as stated in the first sentence, why two channels running the same thing???
 
Me - I don't care.
 
I'm guessing it's because the Welsh ITV1 region is showing the Wales game. Seeing as that's also on ITV4... How would one watch the England game in Wales without it being on ITV2?
 
PS - ITV Feed is up on 7E - 11153V 3/4 7200 8PSK S2/HD MPEG 4:2:0 - 'ITV Backup 3 MAIN Satellite'

Complete & utter madness they haven't got a clue,
I did notice it this morning in the channel guide & thought it must be a mistake :-biglaugh:-rofl2

All ITV channels 1 to 4 are available in all areas direct from satellite using a FTA receiver. TDT would limit Welsh area viewers to ITV Wales, so perhaps that is why they are running in parallel with ITV2. Also for the Welsh in the rest of the UK, who cannot see ITV Wales, use of ITV4. ( Same applies to freesat boxes ) , but what a waste of money!

Yes but, you have to remember the Welsh Dragon is actually a Griffin which is the little brother of the bigger beast.
( I know I am going to be slated for that comment )
