why do we need the perfect arc when two motors are better

hi all after my modifications to my dish set up in another thread,by fitting an extra jack to drop the dish off the arc,i was wondering why this is not a standard set up,would save hours on getting that perfect arc and anyone would be able to set there dishes up perfect,or am i m,issing something obvious cheers

Would assume it's down to a cost factor. You would still really need to get the dish aligned up on the arc at first setup. Having the EL adjustment for inclined sats is a nice bonus.

Add the cost of two actuator control systems, especially ones that drive both simultaneously, two sets of actuator cable, and of course a larger drill bit to make the hole in the wall.

I would imagine also, that it would actually take longer to set up, and only really worth it for those really large dishes where alignment is ultra critical.

For regular sized dishes, with a bit of practice, dish rotation on a single axis does the job, without too much of a fiddle.

yep i also didnt relise how good an arc my dish was set too till i could incline the dish(and no i didnt set the arc up) :-)
