:-ohcrap Ye Gods I am such a banging my head against a wall mood I could demolish a house. She had a new camera for Xmas. Canon with wi-fi, connect to tv and phone bits. I have just spent an hour showing her how to set it up and transfer the photos. All I got is why this, why that, can't I just take a photo and put it on the computer. Yes you do it like this I tell her. But I never used to do it like that. But technology changes.......I said.
Oh well I won't use it, its much to complicated.............. So I will have to flog it on Fleabay at a loss and get a oh so simple point and shoot. :-doh
I'm off for a big mug of hot tea, a roll up and sit outside to chill out.:(

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

A physicist, a mathematician and an engineer stay in a hotel.

The engineer is awakened by a smell and gets up to check it. He finds a fire in the hallway, sees a nearby fire extinguisher and after extinguishing it, goes back to bed.

Later that night, the physicist gets up, again because of the smell of fire. He quickly gets up and sees the fire in the hallway. After calculating air pressure, flame temperature and humidity as well as distance to the fire and projected trajectory, he extinguishes the fire with the least amount of fluid.

At last, the mathematician awakes, only again to find a fire in the hallway. He instantly sees the extinguisher and thinks, “A solution exists!”, and heads back into his room.

As a matter of interest what Canon was it?

Coming back to the original problem why can't your better half transfer them using a USB lead or taking the card out and putting it in a reader? Surely that has to be the "original" way of transferring images - I can't think of anything simpler.

My hugely complicated Nikon DSLR has wifi capabilities so I could probably transfer files with it if I wanted to. But I connect it up to the computer with a wire & browse the card before shifting them over the old way.

It works for me so thats the way it will stay. :D

The missus says her little point & shoot has wifi. She uses the cable too :)

Ooops my mistake, its a Panasonic Lumix TZ70. Good reviews but wasted on her. She uses her mobile phone but the photos are not very good so I will look for a "Simple Camera For Women" :-rofl2

No satellite stuff for the moment (aside from a 43cm minidish that was on the house already), Samsung SyncMaster T27B550 Smart TV & Monitor, and a few computers...

I use my mobile telemaphonium to take photos, and then Dropbox moves them onto my laptop... :D
