Hi, i recently bought a Samsung UE40D5700 led tv...It was a toss up between a panasonic, LG and Samsung...The panasonic was advertised as PVR ready through usb so i automatically thought this would be a working function on the samsung..I have since found out that PVR isnt supported on this tv although i have investigated on the internet and found that i can activate this function through a piece of software and telneting to the tv and changing the software , this all depends on what firmware version it has weather it would work or not...I contacted samsung and was told that this tv does not support PVR...My question is if the tv is capable of pvr recording (and it obviously is by changing the fw/sw why isnt it activated in the first place??..I dont really want to start messing about with it as i could potentionally brick the box which obviously i don't want to do..Is there a reason why samsung do not want you to record on their tvs. Ok its not the end of the world as i can record from my satellite box but i wanted to record from the built in spanish channels (dtv)...any thoghts? thanks richard
