Why sky plus wont work with splitter ?

After 10yrs with my Sky box I decided to buy a used pace Sky plus box. It has been tested by seller. I tried my card and the record function is not working so contacted Sky and a card is on its way. My Sky was installed by a Sky agent when I moved house, I have since added a quad LNB as have 2 freeviewing boxes in other rooms. This left one free now for Sky plus which I have a second sattellite coax ran down to my Sky plus box. The installer put in a splitter in the attic so I can watch Sky in all the bed rooms also the 2 ariels for the 4 irish channels are connected and these can be watched in all the rooms also. Now with the Sky plus box these channels are all gone in the bedrooms, I tried tuning them in again but it failed. I seen an add posted about RF in and out but dont understand it. Any help would be appreciated.

Which channels?
Is the splitter a distibution amp? can you post a diagram of what is going to where since your description is not at all clear
 
There are 2 RF outputs on a S-y box (theye allow you to connect to TVs using the aerial input. You may need to retune your other TVs if the output channel on your plus box is different from your old box. Go to System Settings and the press 0 then 1 then select and you'll go into the 'engineers menu' where you can set the RF output channel and also if you are using magic eyes at the remote sets you need to set RF power to on. Check how it is set on your old box
 
hello, i am not sure what you are trying to do.
if the old box rf out was on channel 21 and the sky + is sending on channel 36 then you will see static on the other tv sets.
retune the tv sets with the box on and it should lock back in.
if you have a sky + and you have 2 lines from the lnb to the 2 inputs of the sky box it should work.
if the pvr in the 2 nd input is off or then you will not be able to record.if the f connector is not on correct same thing.
look at the signal and quality both inputs signal check on the box.
you should get both levels on both.
if input 1 is good and 2 is nothing swap the lines put one on 2 and line 2 on input 1.
is 2 is now good and one is bad the thing changed and one line is bad or shorted or connector was put on wrong.
you can not take one satellite line and split it for sky uk +

Many thanks to all who posted it was the RF output power on my box was off. I changed it to on and retuned in the tv's in the other rooms and all working perfect now. Great to have a site like this to get help with problems.
