Sounds disgusting. :D

But the rubber fell off the end of the stick and I couldn't put it on. It exposed two metal prongs.

Strange thing was the reception has vastly improved. With the rubber on the reception was fair but with it off it's excellent. :D

Strange ne. I can only guess that maybe the rubber affecting something radio wise. Perhaps it was slightly conductive and was acting as a dummy load. or perhaps it was not radio transparent and was affecting the impedance of the aerials.

Was it a cheap no-name or a branded item?

No satellite stuff for the moment (aside from a 43cm minidish that was on the house already), Samsung SyncMaster T27B550 Smart TV & Monitor, and a few computers...

If the rubber was black, they may have used carbon in it as a dye, which would kind of affect reception...

Haha, it eventually packed up so I had to buy another and a repeater to boost the signal. :D

That's the trouble with not using the rubber - increased wear and tear
