SWMBO has had this Galaxy Tabby for 18 months now and so far it has been performing admirably. It was second hand and from an exchange shop and so I don't know just how much use it had with the previous owner(s).

The problem is one of the internal battery that has as of late taken eons to charge and I don't think it now gets past 35% even after four hours or so.
I've lent her my 2A unit from the A3 just in case it was a charger issue and swopped leads over, but same.

Are these tablets completely sealed or is there a repair/replace service available at not too much money ?

I've cleared down the additional progreammes running in the background and ensure she only uses it in flightmode with wifi onin the house, so it's not anything like bluetooth draining the battery.

Is there a recommended app for cleaning the other bits and bobs just in case, I think I installed ASC for mobile devices a while ago and it looked as though it was doing its job then.

Thanks in advance

It's the Galaxy Tab S , SM-T800 is this helps.

One thing I have found on the A3 phone is that even powering up from off (before I have to enter the password) Skype messages are received and I get the bleep to confirm they are in the memory.

Since the wife is a prolific natterer, would Skype on the tablet (or any other social media platform she has in there) be working in the background and draining resources, even when the device is turned off ?

No satellite stuff for the moment (aside from a 43cm minidish that was on the house already), Samsung SyncMaster T27B550 Smart TV & Monitor, and a few computers...

Yeah, a lot of the Tabs come apart with the use of a spudger tool, even my old GT-P7500 I've peeled apart just to have a nosey inside (promptly breaking the headphone jack, but, I don't use the thing much these days, let alone with headphones!), but back onto this one, seems they have connector issues with the battery wires:

deft use of a soldering iron should fix it... :)

Thanks, I'll take it apart tomorrow and squeeze the connectors together, got to find a plectrum in the meantime.

Somewhere in England (possibly?)!
FWIW, a credit-type card might do the same job as a plectrum - OTOH, I bought a set (well, actually two sets) of "splugers" off ebay for a few quid, and these have proved very useful for a range of similar jobs.

Can you find a photo of a "splugers" please?
