WiFi & The Skybox F3

As we've now got a shiny new Forum for Skybox, time to repay Admin's faith and start diversifying the Threads.

I am expecting delivery of a WiFi dongle this morning, claimed to be suitable for the F3, so shall report success or failure in due course.

Upon purchase, the Seller has also provided updated firmware for the F3 which apparently fixes issues with WiFi.

I shall not install that firmware unless obliged - being a great believer in "if it ain't broke ........."

Got Ethernet working fine yesterday and there is an idiots' guide to setting up the WiFi, so hopefully it'll be a doddle.

Arrived 10.20

Unpacked and connected 10.22

Followed instinctive steps leading to reboot, completed by 10.24

Went into WiFi settings, entered WEP Key, pressed connect and checked operation by selecting Weather feature.

All working by 10.26.

No firmware upgrade needed - I had read that earlier Firmwares had a problem with WEP Key length, but this took mine without demur.

Nice. You might want to upgrade WEP encryption to WPA2 as WEP is easily broken by the outsiders...
