Presumably a new wildlife channel, currently showing a penguin colony live from Cape Town, South Africa. Curiously for 28.2°E it is 720p.

Nice addition. They’ve been on a few streaming services. They do live safaris all the time.

The Earth X TV version has been on over the weekend, possibly longer

11670 H 23000 2/3 (8PSK)

A good programme about blue Marlin tagging yesterday.

I can't really understand the system always (and only?) used on 28 degrees East to publish new/moving senders with only the SID showing. Often for quite some time.
Wild Earth for example has shown "51118" a long time now.
On 13 and 19 degrees East, 0,8 West for example the sender shows the name of the channel from start if new or just switching frequency which is much better and easier.
The German channels are not only very generous showing a bunch of good channels free over a large area but also very good when switching frequency or adding new channels. They simple add the words "old" and "new" to the station name when a switch is planned. No silly "SID" for weeks. Way to go Germany!
Does anyone know the reason for the "system" used at 28 East?
Wild Earth has left 28.2 east .
id=51118 still in use but no TV content on transponder 11171 H 22000 for Wild Earth on Astra 2G.

Thank you!

Must be today or yesterday?
I watched it when editing my channel list earlier this week.

The Vu+ still gets it as 51118 when performing a channel search but with only black screen now.

It was still there late last night and hope it returns, perhaps they need to switch to 1080i before launching on Sky.

It’d be a shame if it didn’t come back, it was a good channel.

The WildEarth test broadcasts on Freesat appear to be a mixture of live and more recorded shows than the internet stream. i.e. the live broadcast after the sunrise safari is showing on Home | WildEarth but has been replaced by a repeat of a safari on freesat this morning.

Hopefully they'll be able to afford to get it up and running permanently before too long.

Just an update for anyone that's interested, they intend to start transmissions on Freeview on 21st June.

The timing's a bit funny as it's the first day of winter in South Africa, but their winters are a tad warmer than ours.

WildEarth scans in and shows EPG information on channel 91 (SDN mux) but my TV shows a No Service error.

Looks like you were about 15 mins early :p

It's got the usual UK adverts, but they've got to fund themselves somehow. Apparently their previous funding was cut during a merger between media companies, so it's either fold or go for ads, subs, donations, and payments from other game reserves for advertising their safaris etc.

Wild Earth no longer active @28.2°east Astra 2G.
