Somewhere in England (possibly?)!
A warning to anyone with a PC running Windows 7, 8.1, Server 2008 R2, Server 2012, and Server 2012 R2 (but not Windows 10 this time!) and Sophos, Avira, Arcabit, Avast, and McAfee antivirus software.
On April 9, Microsoft issued a Windows patch that broke PCs with those antivirus programs installed, and after the update is installed, you won’t be able to log into Windows if you have affected antivirus software on your system. Windows will grind to a halt after you sign in.
This page explains what may happen, and what you need to do to correct the problem:

Quite happy with the native Windows Defender plus an occasional scan with MBAM.

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

I am also using Defender a lot more often since the animation software used by the other half requires a remote software activation key on a stick, it has been rejected as unwelcome by most of the third party AVs (all except Avast).

Thanks for the warning though.
