Wiring Advice Request

Hey all,

I know this will have been asked so many times before but I have a specific wiring diagram so assumed it was OK to start a new thread.

So I bought a flat which needed totally refurbing. I asked a family friend who had done something similar to advise me on what wiring to have and where, after a few discussions we came up with this:

Now I took this literally without looking into detail about the kit I needed and now I'm worried I've screwed up because t looks like I have too many cables in the living room??

I assumed my Sky panel would be like this one:

At the moment I have 5 cables hanging out the wall as follows:

Sky cables x 2, RF cable from Aerial, RF cable to amplifier for distribution to other rooms and 1 x telephone cable.

Reading properly suggests a quadplex socket just needs two leads going in?

I assume this means that before it reaches that point I should have combined one of the Sky cables with the RF in and Out cables somewhere else in my flat??

Can anyone help me out with a resolution on this one??!
 
You can't have too many cables, as the worst that can happen is that you have a redundant cable.

I prefer not to use Diplexers if possible, so your two satellite feeds, Aerial in and RF return will work fine.
 
Thanks for the reply, but what kind of faceplates would I connect those cables too?

Like I said a quadplex Sky socket seems to have two inputs one sky in and one triplex for sky(2)in, RF in then RF return.
 
If using data type outlet plates and inserts, then you can use a Sky+ triplexed module, plus a single IEC coax module for the return from the digibox and an single slave telephone module, leaving the fourth coax behind the socket as a spare.

If not then use the one above your link to, just leave one spare coax.

Then loftbox in the cupboard, using the triplexing facility for the main Sky feed with UHF.

Believe me, as an installer, one too many cables is never a problem, one too few however can be. ;)
