No it's not April 1st, Japan are testing the launch of a wooden satellite.

Cork has been used in many spacecraft since the early 60's and still remains a valuable component.



The issue with wood may be functional electrics (and portholes to observe Klingons off the starboard bow).

And now a 10 foot "C" band dish.

Deep in the Boonies in the central Sierra Nevada mountains of California.
No Termites in space. (at least not the ones that eat wood, just humans)
