Advice Needed Would I really notice a difference with a new LNB ?

I presume my existing 8 yr old LNB is about 0.7db not too sure, would a new inverto ultra etc really make such a difference ? Also why is a quad version better than a single one btw ?

Finally is changing the sat coax worth it or not ?

it can make the difference between getting a lock on a fringe signal... its up to you as its your system and you know if you are happy with how it performs

An 8 year LNB will be an old generation one, on which the oscillator is probably past it... which means that there will be a shift in frequencies received and weaker signal.

Yes, a new Black Ultra WILL make a difference over such an old LNB. In fact, it will outperform most LNBs currently on the market, so it's a wise (and cheap) investment.

No logical reason as to why a quad seems to be slightly better than a single one. I haven't really noticed too much difference to be honest.

And, yes, change the coax - it's probably been damaged by the elements over time with split outer sheath, letting water in etc...

Ok thanks fot replies, I see there is an Inverto quad and Quattro btw, what is the difference apart from the former being £6 more ?

You want quad - each output is independent from the other and will provide you with horizontal-low/high and vertical-low/high bands for up to 4 receivers.

The quattro will have only one of four bands available on each of its outputs - HL, HH, VL, VH. It's usually used in blocks of flats where feeds are distributed via a special switch to receivers.

Quattros are purpose designed for use with Multi-Switches: The four outputs are Vertical Low, Vertical High, Horizontal Low and Horizontal High whereas a Quad has four independent outputs than can be switched directly by the Receiver to select any of the four flavours of signal.
