Hi,

It seems you need to load the latest PMC tables into your humax, you can find it in the humax section here http://satdudez.cyberbunker.net/forums/index.php?s=

I am not sure what you mean by your second question.

What's that got to do with the question?
If you want mature content p**n ViaDigital (Hispasat is on 24/7)PalcoX mature content is a much better bet!!!!!

I'm a bit confused about the X-Zone channel
I lost the channel on my Humax a few weeks ago and despite updating with the various 6 in 1 fun files it never came back on.
It seemed you needed to load the latest PMC tables into your humax to get it working.
Being a bit new to this I didn't know how to so gave up.
However I have just loaded the latest 6 in 1 file it's now back on.
What's the score.
What gets the channel back on ?

X-zone is transmitted by Canal+ NL. They change their mediaguard keys every month just like every other mediaguard provider. Are you sure the files you had tried previously contained September keys for that provider?

@whopper
re. xxx programming the following 24hr channels are still available:
x-zone in Mediaguard1(Astra1/19.2e)
Ticket7&8 in viaccess1 (Sirius/1w)
PalcoX & XX in Nagravision (Hispasat/30w)
There's a Private-Gold somewhere in Irdeto1, but I lost track of that bone.
Furthermore, all Kiosque "Knn" channels (Mediaguard1, Astra1) where nn is 4 or higher show xxx after about 23:00
Then there are various softporn channels (Playboy on Hispasat, PW-Erotiek on Astra1...)
Er, alledgedly )(-)(

Not sure tooold
I just assumes the 6 in 1 files would sort it
I guessed it might be a case of waiting for the 6 in 1 file to have the x-zone codes in it but on reading stuff in the forum it seemed you needed to load the latest PMC tables into your humax to get it working.
That is what confused me

Thanks too old it seems all is not lost afterall, I,m very seriously thinking about buying the televes receiver, it has 2 ci slots and can be viewed on the televes website at www.televes.com just click on the uk flag and do a direct search within the web site for product 7254. the only other thing is with this receiver in mind what would you suggest to buy in terms of cams, cards and progr. as i have no experience whatsoever in this kind of thing.
any help will be greatly appreciated not only by me but dozens of friends and neighbours just waiting to come and visit me!
regards...... whopper

purely educational of course..<@>

My opinion:

best receiver at the moment with a hard-disk: Echostar dvr7000
Best without: Samsung 9500

By "best" I mean: offers the most flexibility.

Former had built-in motor&positioner, but is very expensive
Latter does not but can drive a DiSEqC motor, and is much cheaper.
Both have two CI slots. Sammy had 2 embedded CA CAMs also. Both (when the receivers are loaded with the suitable software) allow a standard Irdeto EuroCAM to functionas 6-in-1, giving access to Irdeto1, Betacrypt1, Mediaguard1 ("seca1"), Viaccess1, Nagravision and "TPS-crypt".

Watch out also for an original (not the Z-series) Humax5400. Similar capabilities to the Sammy.

But you should do some research on the net before laying out your cash; opinions differ and there are now many dozens of different receivers satisfying all possible demands on the market.

:confused :confused :confused ohhh dear still not much wiser but ill give some more thought on the matter,
the answer i was hoping for was something like you should get "x type of rec. with y type of cam with z type of progr and card and it will cost approx. this much" but i guess its not quite as simple as that eh? thanks for your help 2old and see you further down the phone bill!!

asking what the best receiver is is like asking what the best car is. Ask ten people and you'll get ten diffeent answers.

Where I live, the best car is one that weighs as little as possible because the local car tax and insurance is determined by weight.

Whenever I visit the US I am amazed that even small families drive around in cars which wouldn't fit on the roads here. The best car there is one that can potentially fit the entire contents of your house in.

In France the best car is French, and in the rest of mainland Europe anyone on a middling salary feels duty bound to declare German BMW & Mercedes as the best.

Italians like cars that can kill them the quickest, whereas Swedes want theirs to survice a nuclear holocaust and outlive the planet.

It's a case of: horses for courses.

You would need to describe exactly what you want to see (which channels, which satellites), describe the degree to which you want to get involved in (ahem) DIY cards; your budget; your location (determines which packages are available legally), your "technicality" (are you a simple TV-watcher, or do you like lots of software and menus to play with?), your actual "peripheral" requiements (need to record stuff? want to watch more than one thing at once? need to link your receiver to multiple TVs?) ....etc etc
Maybe then it would at least be possible to say "this is best for you".

Do any of those cars come with a built in receiver? that way i can kill two birds with one stone!!! just kidding,
all i really want to watch without sounding like a complete perv is good old fashioned mature content WITHOUT HAVING TO PAY MONTHLY FOR IT. yes I would like to be able to record it but onto tape not hard disk and no bells or whistles required, simple but functional is the way to go at the moment for me. My tech ability could be described as better than most but not in card programming etc as i've never seen it done let alone done it, with regard to which satellites it doesn't matter to me as long as there is a good mature content chanell to amaze my friends!, not your candy ass adult chanell or red hot euro etc REAL mature content. Budget doesnt really come in to play as long as were not talking second mortgage but a receiver that makes the tea for you during the ads isn't necessary either, I dont think i will need to motorise the dish as long as i have 1 chanell i can TURN ON pardon the pun i'm happy. Hope this narrows it down a little 2old and i'm sure youre getting pi55ed off with people like me asking what some people would call stupid questions, but even the most knowledgeable had to start somewhere.
thanks again....

Just one after thought I would like to use the Televes receiver as I'm a distributor for their products and I can get it at a good price,
so really its a case of somebody saying well this is a good chanell and you need to do this to receive it..

If you can work out which part of the sky you can see with a dish positioned in a not too unusual place then this might narrow down the options

Size of dish can also be important when choosing channels off less powerful satelletes (location of the receiving site is also to be taken into account when looking at the various footprints)

Late night stuff is available with ease on Hispasat as its free to air for some illogical reason. Hotbird and Astra have dedicated channels but they are mainly encrypted

Sirius has a number of channels with films that degenerate into mature content after ten pm

Thor is encrypted in Conax and has dedicated Kiosk channels

Astra 2 is Videoguard only and soft for the UK market
