xcam 1.03 how to update?

hi have an old xcam 1.03 and was looking to upgrade the firmware, tried upgrading to xcrypto 1.23 (3 * fun6) but after selecting upgrade/download on the STB nothing happens.

Is it too old to upgrade with fun6 cards? and do i need to buy/use a loader board.
