Damn that I cannot get 90E anymore because of trees blocking it. It would be interesting to monitor that position now.

Working of communications satellite "Yamal-201", which failed on June 5, will not be restored. Told Itar-Tass source in the space industry.

I have reception of relocated bird Yamal 300K (still working good) , but not Yamal 201 so .. I'm the lucky one .

Launched 2003 and with 12 years official lifetime, Yamal-201 should be due for replacement anyway.
But I suppose any loss is quite serious, after the recent failures.

There were a couple of minor solar Coronal Mass Ejections brushed past the earth over the weekend, I wonder if they have damaged the craft?

Yamal 201 was not able to be recovered and has been declared a total loss.

Not looking good at all for the Russians looks like a bit more shuffling on the cards what with Express AM4 failure for 80 east AM6 now diverted after launch to 80 east instead of 53 east will AM7 go to 40 east & AM8 to 14 east assuming they get off the ground,

Talking of satellites stuck on the ground Lybid a Ukraine satellite for launch from Baikonur to 48 east now delayed due to the war zone problems or maybe the Russians will say it was blown up by terrorists & use Lybid for 90 east :eek:
