Hello!

I am searching for a Channel Master, Andrews or Raven Feedhorn
alternative a Laminas Feedhorn PO 40
and a Invacom Quad LNB flange QDF 031.

I assume for an offset dish, Ku band.

Receive only or R/T ?

New / used ?

Apologies, I didn't know Laminas did prime focus (or Raven for that matter )

I do have some (very) old p/f feeds in the box of bits, but from memory the clamping arrangement of the Channel Master is four arms, and I think the ones I have are triples only, IRTE style, though I do recall a couple of single clamp feeds from 90cm dishes I was selling a number of years back. All are four bolt connection to a polariser, so you would almost certainly have to adapt the bolt holes for attaching a universal LNB.

Which f/d are you looking for ?

Ah! The title got me too... I was thinking Ku-band Rx-only or Rx/Tx feedhorns for offset dishes (f/D usually around 0.6).
But a CM Ku-band feedhorn for a PF dish... Hmmm.
Perhaps it would be more informative if OP shared the dish type and what bands he is looking for?

The Laminas PO-40 feedhorn is also for offset dishes

I wanna pick up the uk-spot in Austria. Means i Need a dish with 2,4 m or more. The Laminas PO 40 feedhorn is for Offset dishes, yes.
I have buyed the dish used as a bargain and don´t know the manufacter. I used a old groves feedhorn, the invacom ADF 120 and the gibertini Feedhorn but get no good results. This feedhorn test on Forum.dxtv impressed me. DXtv.de | LNB allgemein | Test Feedhorn. Close to me someone get Signal with a 2,3 m PFA and invacom quad lnb.

If the dish is bent, no feedhorn can help.

Invacom ADF would be OK then.

What dish have you bought/installed? It isn't clear from your earlier post

Exactly..... what is missing in this thread from very beginning, is bunch of pictures.

I have buyed the dish used as a bargain and don´t know the manufacter. It´s a GFK dish with 2,4 m with no name on it and 3 feed arms. I´ve searched in the net but did not find anything about it. I get Signal on 10906, 10758 and 10729 from the uk-spotbeam.

- used;
- bargain;
- no name;
- 3 feedarms
It is too general description of your dish. Couple of simple photos could potentially help to recognize your dish.
Did you do string-test to check whether your dish is warped or not? Did ypu measure it's diameter and depth?

No. I think this is the fortec star. Many write about the poor Quality. I´ve searched in the net multiply about my dish and did not find anything. I´ve Change the rusty feedarms against threads for better aligning. The dish have 2,4 m, deepth 31 cm, F/d was 116 cm. Thanks for your help. But this feedhorn test from Forum.dxtv.de impressing me.

This test was made on turksat but the lower frequency like on the astra 2e spotbeam tp. are much better with the laminas and channel master feedhorn.

GFK (Glasfaser Verstärkter Kunststoff) == SMC.
OP has a plastic dish. Not a rustbucket... :)

Hate to repeat, but pictures says it all ;)

Edit:

1) If this is an old dish, you may find that it's a C-band dish, which is not so effective for Ku. But you should not stop trying, you have nothing to loose.
2) Quickest and cheapest first step is to get a Golden Interstar GI-209P, which is a Ku-band single LNB with PF feedhorn. @RimaNTSS have used this with good results - and they're quite cheap, at least a 1/6 of thr price of a Ku feedhorn + the Invacom LNB. Then you can decide if it's good enough, or to try and squeeze a little extra from using different feedhorn etc.

Now we are getting somewhere.

The only dish I know with three petals at that size, in SMC is the Prodelin 1252/3, but the f/d would be a fraction, not 116 cms ?

Nevermind

Very good.
But OP says three feed-arms, not petals.
I would guess that this could be anything, including Eastern-block dishes from 80's?

picturespitcturespictures... ;)

I don't know of any other plastic/fibre dish with three feed arms, regardless of the quantity of petals. All it does is eliminate the two/four/eight segmented models from the list of 2.4m/8' versions and there aren't too many of those either in non metal finish.
