I have tried to find som information regarding reception of badr 7 in north europe. I live in northen Sweden. What dish size will i need? Does a 120cm be enought?

Regards

Badr 7, 26e, is using the East Mena beam, and from the satellite beam map it looks like it might be a spot beam, for N W Africa:

Yes but i wonder if someone have tried to receive badr 7 in north europe and with what dish size. I have tried to receive badr 4 last year but with no luck. Currently i dont have a spectrum analyser or some other instrument so i have not tried to receive the new badr 7 MBC transmissions yet. I will try soon but i dont think it is possible with my 120cm dish.

Well, we've a few notable Members from Scandinavia, so maybe one or more of them will pop-up in due course and give you real-life reports.

Here today with 2.4m + SF4008
11270V (East Mena) 14.0db
10970V (NWA) 8.2db
11230H (Mena) -

Check the channels you should be able to get, on 26E, like 11996 H 27500, on Badr 4, then try a few others:
Code:
https://www.lyngsat.com/Badr-4-5-6-7.html

You may get most of these Badr 4 at 26.0°E - LyngSat
Badr-5,6 & 7 all have a very tight footprint no signals here with a 100cm dish,

I only get Badr-4 & when it retires 26 east will be lost altogether here in the East of England as I have no plans for a larger dish.

Thats might be good news. We almost live at the same lat lon so if theory holds i should have about 8db S/N on 11270V. I must try today.

Thank you for the report

I have about 4 dB C/N on the strongest UK beam transponder on Astra 2G. Im about to buy a 1.8m CM but i think a 2.4m is the minimum to be able to receive the UK beam. What C/N do you have on 28.2 UK?

Nothing on Badr 4 with my old 120cm dish. I will try with my fibo 120 today.

Can you please post the channels you are getting on Astra 2G.

im getting all europe beam channels on 2G and 2E. 2E is 9-10 dB C/N and 2G 14-17 dB. No 2F at all. 2F euro is actually weaker than 2G UK.

You are probably getting the Europe KU beam channels:
Code:

There are some good channels, still available, on that beam, including Talking Pictures TV:

I am able to receive badr 7 11270V. 9 dB C/N and just finetuned with my dreambox 800 hd. I must admit it is a surprise because i can not receive anything on badr4 mena beam.

I am also getting this transponder on 1.2m dish. ScreenHunter_321 May. 29 15.05.webp

Have re-scanned position 26*E , got reception from 21 transponder (Badr4&7), more than 200 services. Took one screenshot per transponder. Some channels have pretty good bitrate, on many channels lots of Ramadan speaking
Will post screenshots in batches (10+10+1)
