Lucky git. How big is the dish? I bet the signal is good.

I'm getting nostalgic already.

An 80cm gets it no problem at all - its a huge signal, so you can align onto 53E and get the Europe beam channels from that one and TurkmenAlem too Plus the 11843V tp from Al Yah1. You would probably get a usable signal on a 60cm too.

Ive currently got a 1m aligned on 46E with offset lnb for 52/53E, although I may have to change it unless I can find somewhere more sheltered for it - the bloody thing barely survived todays storm. Its currently secured down with extra posts banged in around the lnb arm!!

EDIT - corrected Al Yah freq.

I stupidly thought Dubai was 19:00 so was puzzled when they started playing Lionel Richie at the top of the hour. I have to say it works nicely though (see video)

That sounds good. I have a cunning plan to rearrange the dishes which just might allow a temporary extension using a Shelly clamp if the line of sight is there. I am also considering using some short lengths of WF65 for the strong sats so I can shove in some extra lines of WF100 for weak sats. I have been given some more computer bits, old junk obviously, which might go with other old bits, so that might help (and add to the mess).

I am not familiar with your new dish farm, yet it sounds somewhat familiar in set up. . .

I will be moving the L brackets so wind should not affect a temporary lash up. Though I wouldn't leave it up for long. Maybe a mesh zone 2 or mesh 80cm would do it without being too visible. I think I have an angle just past a huge tree but I won't know till I try.

Its not as untidy as the other one (yet!!) Im going to have to rethink the version1 setup though - its so exposed here the big dishes are too vulnerable to the storms where Ive got them set up atm. The assorted lnbs on the 13e dish were bouncing around like a braless gogo dancer in the storm force winds this morning..........!

What no fireworks,from Dubai?
Thought they would follow the light show
Must have spent all the budget on the laser show
Spoke too soon, they are firing up from Burj Al Arab instead
