Hi,
There are now three software versions of the "VMA Simple Spectrum Analyser Software":
1) For the chinese SMA/NWT devices. Those cost from 50 Euro to around 250 Euro, depending on the version.
2) For the Siglent SSA3021X spectrum analyser. Great device, costs around 1700 Euro, though. Can be hacked to unlock all measurement functions and increased bandwidth up to 3.2GHz.
3) For the Rohde&Schwarz CRTU and CMU200. The can be bought for 500 Euro to 1500 Euro, depending on luck and device condition. Pretty fast FFT spectrum, 9kHz-2.7GHz, but oldish user interface and few measurement functionality.
The latest release for the CRTU/CMU200 requires a GPIB/USB interface. The common ones are the Agilent, which can be purchased relatively cheap from China as refurbished devices. They cost around 60 to 80 Euro plus shipping and customs.
Here a preview video of the new software:
More info on my blog:

Potentially I can do a dedicated software version for any device that provides the spectrum data as a series of measurements and accepts as an input the start/end frequency. I can support RS232, RJ45 and VISA protocols fairly easy now.
If you have a spectrum analyser, particularily one that can be bought cheapish on eBay, and which supports the prerequisites, I might be able to do a software version.
The long time goal would be to make a universal software version, that could be configured to be used with any device.
For serious SAT DX, a spectrum analyser is really a great tool!
Regards,
Vitor
