Go a lot faster when clean......Bought from new, ours will be two years old next month (35,000 km since new) and it hasn't been any trouble. Serviced last year and will be again next month, as I'm driving down to Girona at the end of April. It's pretty quiet (for a diesel) and a smooth ride. Gets about 20km to the litre. Very comfortable but ours was top of the range, has buit in sat nav and leather seats...

you got cruise control?

this golf ive got is the first car ive had with cruise control and i got to admit i love it especially when it comes to the 50/60 zones

you got cruise control?

Yes it has, but I've never used it, which is a matter of personal preference really....Besides it's not much use when you get stuck behind a tractor...

surprised you dont use it,
ive been enjoying using it

Tried using it ages ago when I was on holiday in the USA and didn't like the idea that I wasn't in control. I realise you are of course but it's not for me..

yea it can feel a bit weird not having your foot on the accelerator, so i get what you mean

2007 Skoda Octy II 2.0l 16V turbo diesel estate - remapped from a sluggish 140 bhp to a very lively 180 bhp on a rolling road - some basic suspension mods as well and so it doesn't handle too badly either! Great fun to blow off quite a few posher vehicles:-rofl2

Has cruise control which I use occasionally (first car I had with c/c was a 1.3l Marina 1 Coupe - almost certainly the only Marina of any model to ever have c/c, and mainly because I have had a dodgy right knee that needed rests from time to time! Many years later I had c/c fitted to my Mk IV Golf 1.9 TDI for the same reason. Both of those - and many cars before, between and after them were "got at" in terms of tuning and suspension mods as well!:))
