Just seen this pic online .... looks like your feed - and shows a conversion piece
View attachment 116339

To be honest though i,v found that a standard 40 mm Inverto Black ultra twin l.n.b.f gives the best all round results on my 1.8 offset Channel Master ... and i,v tried many different c-120 type l.n.b,s on my c.m.feed over the years.
That's interesting, is that completely standard or with a modified horn?

Couple of reasons i suppose , to back up any existing database references to mesh size used with this dish and also to gauge what frequencies higher than the normal High Band Ku signals are likely to squeeze through the holes and not reflected back towards the lnb.

I had the same thing when I had my Channel Master, from memory, I think its about a 1.5mm gap.

Wasn't quite as bad as yours, to be honest I just painted over it. I used some acrylic grey paint, luckily it was a close match.

Whats the code/colour of the paint you used? I have the Pantone Code for the CM original colour but it's too expensive to get mixed.

I used Rust-Oleum Winter Grey, from my local Wilko store. Perhaps a litte darker but was fine for me.

Any repairs are unlikely to improve the performance or longevity of the dish.
My impression is that the steel mesh is stainless, so no further damage done.
But you might want to fix it for aesthetic reasons.
You can use resin-like filler in the form of a car-body repair kit (eg from your local Halford's) to fill in any cavities.
Then sand down, and paint the area.
Or just paint the area to seal it from further deterioration.

I used Rust-Oleum White (RAL 9010) to repaint a Precision dish a few months ago, its decent paint.

Note that the surface will not be same as the un-sanded areas.
They have this grainy surface (the purpose of which I do not know) made during the moulding.
This will be very difficult to replicate.
But it also has no effect on performance. It's (almost) purely visual.
(My Prodelin dishes do not have this feature...)

They probably use it to hide any imperfections that might be visible otherwise considering its construction.

A touch of grit/sand in the paint to give the same effect?

Yeah they are great LNB's I have a few IBU's :)
Yes for me as well......the twin is very sensitive......not tested myself but comments are plentiful that it outperforms the quad! :Y
