I suppose it's no good mentioning that we are currently on holiday near the Mediterranean coast and the weather has been hot and sunny....I'll get my light summer jacket...

Whilst most of the UK was washing away yesterday it was quite a pleasant day at work in Galashiels - the sun was out, and wandering across to the second building mid morning I was surprised at how warm the sun was after the overnight showers

No satellite stuff for the moment (aside from a 43cm minidish that was on the house already), Samsung SyncMaster T27B550 Smart TV & Monitor, and a few computers...

I heard the typical wave expected in the Azores tonight exceeds 19m.

19m is pretty high, but my being around 800 foots above sea level (given I'm just below the height of Pontop Pike off in the distance), that'd need a lot of energy behind it to make it uphill...

I heard the typical wave expected in the Azores tonight exceeds 19m. Flores and Corvo are likely to be impacted the worst.

Reports of potential 25m waves, plus fatalities.

Time to re-open this thread with your recent experiences, me thinks :D

OTOH, nothing much to report here except a lot of wind and rain yesterday and then overnight - but not been down the garden to see what's happened to the "dish farm"
OTOH 2: just fired up the SX88 driving the Gibby, and that seems to be tracking fine across the arc from 52E to 34.5W, and so that's not moved - and if that's OK then the rest of them should be OK as well because they are more protected from the wind and are well-braced against the fencing (most have extra braces to stop the feedarms waving in the wind - or getting knocked around by "clumsy me" walking/staggering past :( ).

You are only a few miles from me, but it has only rained this afternoon, though it was exceedingly windy all last night, and rather warm outside up to an hour ago.

Next week - plagues of frogs :D

'The shopping centre, just off the M1, was due to host the annual Christmas Live event on Thursday featuring acts including Ella Henderson, Tom Zanetti, Jonas Blue.
But the show
was called off at the last minute amid a torrential downpour.'

Close call.

That's not the North. More like North Midlands. Here in the true North, it's really jolly nice.
