How to receive inmarsat satellite signal by dish antenna

Hi friend,
I have a 3.7m dish antenna with L band. I try to receive signal of inmarsat 4f1 satellite by the dish but I do not see the spectrum of signal on spectrum analyzer. Do you know this problem? thank you so much
 
Where are you pointing to? Inmarsat 4F1 is at 143.5°E (below horizon).
4F2 is at 63.9°E, 4F4 (Alphasat) is at 24.85°E, and 3F5 is at 54.0°W.

Newer generation 5 (GX) satellites are at 62.6°E, 56.5°E, 28.0°W and 55.0°W, but I don't know how active these are in L-band.
 
That satellite experienced a total loss of attitude control and has not in operation as of 17 February 2018.

I am in Viet Nam so I can see Inmarsat 4F1 and 4F2

Because these sites list only broadcasting-type satellites, generally.
For a complete GSO satellite list, have a look here, click on LAN to sort on longitude: CelesTrak: Active Geosynchronous Satellites
With the search box, a filter can be applied on Name (Inmarsat for example).
 
He is looking for one that was broadcasting satellite TV.
 
Ahhh I see what your looking for, that satellite is not on most sat lists as it's a data/internet only satellite, sorry I thought you were looking for satellite TV service.

BGAN network may be the only ones that could help you with service, here is a link to them...

But here is a link to a satellite pointing site that may help with direction and elevation, but you will only get service if you have one of the BGAN receiving antennas, they have a built in modem.

I don't think the spectrum is the issue, the coverage of the Inmarsat services is changing as a result of their migration to i4 and the east Asia area was mentioned as an area that would no longer be within a footprint of the satellites.

Check the BGAN web site, it was supposed to be active by 2009

I think that I need to use SDRPlay SDR Radios to connect the dish antenna by cable and install software on computer to see spectrum of Inmarsat
Did you do that?
We can not see the spectrum of satellite by spectrum analyzer directly right?
 
What type of spectrum analyzer???? RF, or one of those cheap satellite/PC types???

A good RF stand alone spectrum analyzer with a range over 2 GHz and a noise floor of at least -120 dB should see the signals from that satellite if your pointing at the right one.

I used spectrum analyzer of Agilent, it is very good one but I did not see the frequency spectrum of Inmarsat 4f1 at 143.5E

Nobody in Europe can view Intelsat 4F1 directly.

Can you receive narrowband signals in between 1525 and 1559 MHz with what you have ?

143.5E may not be active now, try looking at 178E as they may have changed over to that satellite, see Channel Hoppers post #15, follow the info on that web site.
