i dont update my E2 image very often - im of the opnion if it aint broke, dont fix it.

yes, i know you can backup to image, but it always turns into a major setup operation for me, mainly cos i record of my LAN and i have some timers which are a pain to resetup.

I updated the 8008 here last night but couldn't see any additional features in the menus, I've not actually checked what happens with the 'press 1000' code, will try tonight.

That 'info, info, option' works on the 'user define' software. I use the sx88 remote to access it as that has the option button

Not having this RX, I tried something similar with the SX88 which has just received a f/w update.

All it actually does is to provide a magnified view of the SS &SQ bar graphs almost directly from the main programme-viewing screen, but you can then push the Option button again to take you directly to the Antenna Settings menu - but then you lose the magnified view at that point!

It might have been of a bit more use if the magnified view SS/SQ was available in those Antenna Settings menus, but I hardly see the point of it in the main programme-viewing menus where it is now!

I'm wanting to flash my SF8008 with OpenATV 6.3 but the zip file doesn't contain a ‘usb_update.bin’ file, just the Octagon folder? I'm concerned about bricking the box if I try flashing without it. Can anyone advise please?

Hi Guys, been reading this Thread today with great interest. Some of you are very knowledgeable.
I have a request for the experts. Am using the SF8008 Twin with 500GB HDD connected via Blue USB and a 256 SDCard at Rear.
Am looking for ALL the older versions of the openATV 6.3 "recovery.emmc" and "mmc" version from July and August 2020.
Thanks, a hint in the right direction would be really apprec.

The nightly updates - as far as I recall - do not include the update.bin file requested, but I will try in about an hour with the receiver I have here.

The usb update.bin is in the recovery_emmc.zip from the url i posted
