thinking of applying black patches like a cow effect to my dish - would vinyl stickers degrade signal , or best to paint them on.... ?
If you see signal degraded, do not worry, just use the one size bigger dishwould vinyl stickers degrade signal

@moonbase you're the man!!! respecto1.8m channel master?
Vinyl stickers should not degrade the signal, the Precision 2.8m dishes that I got from the S4C auction had some quite large S4C logos on them in vinyl.
Additionally, many years ago, Precision Antennas used to apply their logo to some of their dishes. I sold a Precision 1.8m dish to forum member "aceb" with the vinyl logo on it a good few years ago.
Spray painting might give a better finish, the possible issue with odd shapes of vinyl is bubbling when applied. Not that bubbling would impact the signal, it is just cosmetic if present.
You could use a hair dryer to warm it up when applying to reduce or remove any bubbling?
Would that not be like a "Red Rag to a Bull" to anyone - such as "nosy neighbours" or "local authority guys" - and get their unwanted attention????thinking of applying black patches like a cow effect to my dish - would vinyl stickers degrade signal , or best to paint them on.... ?
Teat of the icebergPull the udder one.
maybe.....although no one will be able to see it, except my neighbour who SHOULD be sorting out his shambolic fence, so its on him if he doesnt want to see it - he probably wont care anyway - hes happy tending to his garden and not interfering - with us (thankfully)Would that not be like a "Red Rag to a Bull" to anyone - such as "nosy neighbours" or "local authority guys" - and get their unwanted attention????
